Split Screen Coop 2 controllers?

Hey all. I'm trying to do some split screen coop with my fiancee. Is it possible to play with 2 controllers? I have 1 Xbox One wireless controller connected by Bluetooth USB dongle and 1 PS5 controller wired by USB. I was trying it the other night and both controllers controlled the left character while KBM controlled the right character. Where are the settings to alter this? I couldn't find them anywhere in the menu. Thanks!

I've tested it with 2 controllers, and it worked for me, if 2 controllers are plugged in, then each controller is assigned to one of the characters, and the keyboard controls the left character. if only one controller is plugged in, then the controller will control the left character and the keyboard the right character, like you said. I don't think this is a problem with the game, it seem like that either windows or Steam is detecting both controllers as the same controller.
