Alrite lets get some debating on the go.

I believe that all cores at aperture were once humans, employees that worked there. Like not a human uploaded directly to a core but the cores personalites and traits were based on that of their human counterparts. GLaDOS for example is based on Caroline I believe.

They do this because a company like aperture would have alot of data and infomation on their workers right up to things like favorite colors and stuff. They stated the faclity began to go downhill once GLaDOS was created because she was so powerful and went out of control which is why the other cores were created like Wheatley to dumb her down and try to control her. I think she started runing the scienetists of Aperture through her chambers and one by one they dropped off and died and as they died Aperture used them to make personality spheres.

Going by this logic, Wheatley could also have a human counterpart that was killed and thus based off of the deceased Wheatley's personality. I have another theory though which explains who the man who has provided for Wheatley was. Sience we know GLaDOS was Carloine, I'm connecting Wheatley to Rat Man. It makes sense in a way, Wheatley didn't show up until Portal 2 and we know Rat Man was still alive after the Original Portal. It would also explain why he chose to help Chell of all people, if he knew her somehow, (seeings how he drew a pic of her in his artwork) and why he wanted to escape too.

Agree? Dissagree? Why? Pick it apart and shoot me down if you want, lets get a debate going. :P

Nice logic. To clear some stuff up Wheatly only tried to kill Chell because of a virus that is in GLaDOS's system.

1. Why was there a virus?
2. How would they try to make her dumb if they died?
3. How did GLaDOS get Wheatley off of her?

I belive you are pretty much right. One weak spot would be that the people who worked there built cores like Wheatley to dumb her down. They had to work fast and very descretly. Because i think GLaDOS would know where and what everyone was doing at all times. Other than that i think your theory is very possible. ( sorry for my english)

Just theories but Wheatley we know was made to make her dumb, the other cores were like Fact core (who i think being corroptued makes his facts wrong) all he would do is spam with infomation and handel asking questions, adventure core i guess could be some braverly and distractions, space core and wheatley i guess were distractions as well like aperture was like we need to distract glados is system to try and control her or something but I can see how having a bunch of facts blasted at you, the constant need to go jump off a clift for the hell of it, constant thoughts about space screaming at you and wheatleys usually bad ideas and suggestions would confuse and "dumb" down someone all going at once. as well as distract and annoy. Like they based the personality off the decased human but programmed them to be the way they are, like wheatley was probably a head scientist or something pitching ideas and concepts and they just made him only pitch bad ones in core form.

The Virus could be the reason GLaDOS went out of control, perhaps black mesa or something planted it in her core to take down Aperture?

and for the third one when u were fighting wheatley u kinda just jam the cores on them im pretty sure their not that tight so maybe she shook him off? lol

The virus may have come from black mesa. I think that is an awesome theory.

Thats a good theory but Wheatly was created to dumb GlaDos down so why would Aperture hire someone thats quoat "Your not a regular moron you were built to be a moron" -GlaDos,
So why? But mabye they hired all the cores to... Kill them and make them cores like Space Core was mental Fact Core was really smart! (Not Really) Rick trying to be cool and so on. But will Aperture do that? Kill people... Well they did enough already!

Yeah no im saying they programmed them to act dumb, like wheatley could of been an actual valuable emplyoee because Aperture seemed to be somewhat "safe" before GLaDOS went haywire, and after Wheatley's death they used his personality as a base but programmed the core to make stupid ideas and whatnot. Fact core i think was a really smart guy they had and they reprogrammed the core to be the opposite, things like that.

The reasoning behind this is that when GLaDOS is in the potato she works with Chell but when she is back in her body she is pretty mean to Chell. Same for Wheatley.

Applying some logic, given how long she went without food or water in the game, and considering shes spit out in the middle of a wheat feild in the middle of nowhere, there's actually a high chance Chell is dead.

i think that everyone had a job there or had a conection
space core: cave johnson's son/daughter (him going to the moon... bleh)
fact core: the person who came up with bad ideas. and bad information
Adventure core: some weird guy trying to flirt with caroline
wheatley: idea gentorator. MADE THE IDEA OR PERSONALITY CORE (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monday)
Chell: a small conection to the company, like a delievering person
