I opened the first Portal for my friend to try out... and she was doing very well! Took me by surprise, haha.
She managed to solve 14 rooms! but then had to stop cause of the dizziness.

Also might I interest you in this video series, guy got his wife(a non-gamer) to play a bunch of games, with little help, to see how a non-gamer would adapt. He had her play Portal, but I don't think there's a full video on it. Quite an experience.

Oh yeah, I've watched this vid some time ago! Also Portal 1 was a right choice.
But I myself prefer the second game, my lore of Portal/Half-Life universe started with this one.
Both is good. (Haven't died a single bit in portal yet, might as well return to portal and portal 2.)
