local co-op glitch...

Recently I tried to play local co-op with two 360 controllers, but sadly the red portal doesn't work with player 2, it uses my light blue portal instead... Checked the controller settings and they seemed correct, but for some reason, no matter what I did too, it just doesn't work. So my friend is playing single player instead of playing with me, which is kind of a dissapointment. Anyone know if it's only my computer which is practically binding one of the triggers for player 2 with player 1? I'm just hoping to fix this so that both of my controllers work with portal 2 and I can stop being frustrated about it.

Happening to me as well, and I've done everything from reinstalling the game, trying different controllers, and checking the drivers. I am not sure what is causing it.
