Portal 2 co-op - Course 3 Chamber 8 - ending bugged ?!??!!?

I've tried about 5 times with my friend to complete the co-op level at the end of Course 3 (Chamber 8).

Bach time we stick the disc into the pc, Glados begings saying bla bla bla bla blah as the daily password is played then she kills us, which finishes the level.

But

Once we are sent back to the Hub, Course 3 still shows the 8th Chamber incomplete?!?

I've been scraping the net for others with the same issue and have found a few, but never a work around or solution.

Is this just an inavoidable bug in the game? Obviously many players are able to complete this course and move on to course 4.

Do you guys know who is hosting? I am guessing it is their game that is bugging. Have you both tried verifying the integrity of your game caches?
