This is to do with Portal 2 not half life.
I don't refuse to see it, I do believe this. It's just that they are making a portal 2 themed set and not, I repeat not, a Half Life themed set. It's like making a Mario game and saying its bad because of a lack of Donkey Kong.
Even then, that's only ONE game which brings all of Nintendo's characters togeather from their respective universe unlike this game which both games are in the same universe in the first place.
I was simply pointing out the fact they should also make lego models based off the other "major" Half-Life figures such as Shep, Freeman and Barney, let's not forget the Combine Turret etc, which the Portal Turret seems very similar to.
First off Donkey Kong and Mario are in the completely same universe without smash and secondly, im not saying there wont be a half life set or even just some easter eggs.
Also, minor cameos don't count, you know like how KNIGHTS appears in Sonic Lost World.
I was hoping for an actual lego kit/model (perhaps Gladdos) instead of figures.
It's very likely that Portal is based in the HL universe.
However, Portal 2 introduced the possibilities of parallel dimensions. Thus, it's also possible that Portal series takes place in the dimension where HL never took place.
Also in every Half-Life 1 game that's cannon you vist a borderworld called Xen which connects two or more dimensions, what dimension was on the other end though? Nobody knows, was it where Race X came from? Was it where the Combine/Aperture came from?
Not to mention you use two weapons similar to the portal gun in both Half-Life 1: Opposing Force, the Displacer Cannon which is a 1-way teleport and the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2 which is where the grabber function is based off.
Not to mention you use the energy pellets as a weapon in Half-Life 2 which are vurtually identical to those featured in Portal 1.
Not to mention, basically everything to do with Portal has a home in the Half-Life wiki, both cut and cannon.
2) The fact that Xen / aliens may be able to travel through dimensions is irrelevant. That's like saying that, because a guy has a car in New York City, he has the ability to drive to California and thus he must have driven to California instead of somewhere else in New York (or anywhere along the way).
3) Simply because Portal and Half Life share similar technology doesn't mean that two exists in the same universe. Similar technology (even identical) may have been developed separately.
Because you're too lazy to do your research i'll do it for you.

http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Half-Life_universe
Looking at the Half-Life timeline, the reason the Portal games aren't based around the same time as the Half-Life games is because their either based before or after, looking at Chell's state during both games i'd say Portal 2 is based before Portal 1 because during Portal 1 Chell has a knee implant which suggests she became one of the Cut Combine Female Assasins.
This isn't like Planetside 1 and 2 where some aspects of the lore was redesigned for the second game, they are part of the same cannon universe.
If you put down your games controller, get yourself a PC and use this thing us PC users and gamers like to call the internet you'd know that by now.
