Are bhop scripts allowed in portal 2? will I get vac'd if i use one?

really would like someones input because i see all of these portal speedruns with people bhopping but idk if they used scripts or the scroll wheel trick.

If scripts have to be written to allow an action to be performed then most likely yes you would get at least a VAC warning for first detection and then increasing responses for every detection after that. So I would stay away from so-called "bhop scripts" just to be on the safe side...

(sorry if this is a bit late) Absolutely, there are thousands of speedrunners out there who use a bhop/abh script ingame, and it will not get you VAC banned or even detected. It's not a cheat, it's just a little script that spams the spacebar, and valve doesn't care about cheating in singleplayer games. If you're still a little scared to use it anyways, binding jump to both the scrollwheels isn't too difficult to use, and many, many runners use that instead of a script.

You won't get VAC banned portal 2 doesn't have VAC protection due to it being a single player game.

Scripts are not allowed in speedrunning (I know it because I'm a speedrunner) so the thing you said was false information. Also, Portal 2 only has bhopping and doesn't have abh.

In a nutshell: I don't think Portal 2 has vac, so technically you could use scripts, but while speedrunning scripts are forbidden, so runners scroll the mouse wheel. (Which also feels way better than using scripts if you ask me)
