Refresh Rate

Where can I set the refresh rate to 120/144hz ? I couldn't find it in Options/Video/Advanced Video ! Thank you !

Pretty sure Portal 2 won't support that high a refresh rate given the age of the game...

I don't see why age of the game would affect refresh rate. I don't use vsync or sync to vblank, so my fps is well beyond that @ 1080p, although my TV itself only accepts 60 Hz input at that resolution. The first time I started Portal 2 and it defaulted to 640x480 it was something insane around 2900 fps.

What OS, graphics hardware and drivers? It is possible that the graphics hardware or display is not capable. For example my HDTV can display at 120 fps, but that is not real, it is interpolated from 60 Hz input to smooth and sharpen video to reduce motion blur.

You have to change your monitor refresh rate at Windows first. That’s where it’s capping.

After you manually set your refresh rate at Windows then Portal 2 will run at the set resolution if it’s Windowed. If you want it to run at the set resolution Full Screen you have to re-open the game.
