What is the True Purpose of the Neurotoxin?

This is something ive been wondering for a while...What is the fricking point of the neurotoxin in the facility? Could it be used as a fuel to power the facility? Or was Aperture being stupid and inefficient as always? Tell me what you think its for and why :)

It actually doesnt show them getting killed with it. and it does indeed tell you what they got it for.

On Bring Your Cat To Work Day, GLaDOS wanted some neurotoxin to preform an experiment. You might know that cat experiment only GLaDOS wanted to do it on the scientists! But then on Bring Your Daughter To Work Day, the scientists thought she lost intrest in killing, they were wrong and she managed to do the experiment. aka that cat experiment
