How to speed up game saves 10x and loads 4x in Portal 2.

Part of the process of saving and loading is to display a pie-slice clock in upper right corner of screen/window. The speed of this display is only partly governed by saving/loading milestones, the remainder by "game time". Normally, "game time" is equivalent to realtime, however using a tool (such as Cheat Engine and their "speedhack" option) to manipulate this results in dramatically faster - or slower - save and load times. I sometimes use slower game speed to assist me in the tricky jumps or to speed up walking through uninteresting sections. I normally have a mouse button bound to quick save and another to quick load. I modified these to use macros that temporarily speed up gameplay x30, resulting overall in saves that are near instant and much quicker loads. I was wondering why when I went from a 12yo computer to new computer with extra fast SSD that saving and loading time was no different.
Note, use of Cheat Engine should be strictly on single player games.
