Portal 2 crashed after I put mods on it

For some reason portal 2 crashes after I put mods on it and not just that when a community map has custom content it also crashes and I don't know if it should go to steam support because it's custom content not valve content but still does anyone know how to fix this? I can put 1 mods but more mods crashes the game when I run it just so you know the main menu is fine but when I start playing it crashes
