Creepy Portal 2 unused sound file

So i was looking deep into pak01_dir.vpk. And i stumbled across a creepy sound file called evilagainsamples01.wav. I played the sound and i heard GLaDOS saying: Did you ever stop to think that eventually there is a point where your name gets mentioned for the very last time? well here it is: I'm going to kill you, Chell.

Why does this file exist? Is this a part of the planned but later cancelled alternate ending? I don't know about such things but... Can anyone explain?

Glados had a bit of lines that were removed or changed. A lot of them were darker than what remained in the game and this may have been why they were removed. You can view them here.

Yeah i watched that video... It is known that in the epilogue of the game, that GLaDOS says that she actually likes Chell and GLaDOS is then good, not evil. I was wondering why should GLaDOS hate Chell once again?

And also, today i searched youtube for such thing, and i found this:

The video shows the same ending of Portal 2, but the only difference is that GLaDOS starts pulling chell back to earth, but she changes her mind and leaves her on the moon. After a few seconds the portal to earth closes, and in a short while GLaDOS starts saying the same words heard in the unused sound file. Later she starts saying the other three unused sound files, explaining how she hates Chell. Then she says: It's been fun. Don't come back.

I will have nightmares for weeks because of the freaking video... Just imagine if you were on the moon in real life, there is a portal to earth, then it closes and then out of nowhere, GLaDOS starts talking...

The guy who created that video could of taken the unused sound files from any point in the game. On a podcast two devs talk about a joke ending with the player placing a portal on the moon and dying in the early game. This was later changed into the current ending. It is possible that the lines are from that but I have my money on no. I love the lines either way.

If I was stranded on the moon I would try to build a snow man out of moon rocks.

Those lines are from a scrapped alternate ending where GLaDOS would turn on you again. It obviously got implemented enough into the game for lines to be recorded, but at that point playtesters felt betrayed that she would do /that/.

I think ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That is fake as implants and if that was real, there would probably be a lawsuit between Valve and that creator for copyright infirngement.

I think ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That is fake as implants and if that was real, there would probably be a lawsuit between Valve and that creator for copyright infirngement.

If it was real, it would be considered Gameplay, and from that, Valve couldn't make a lawsuit(idck how that stuff works exactly) between them and the creator of the video.

I vaguely remember hearing this line in game. Idk if it's just me remembering something wrong or maybe it's because I used to mess around with a GLaDOS soundboard app on my mom's old android phone that featured the line or something????

It's just unused lines. According to developer commentary, developers found that GLaDOS' comments were too aggressive and they made it more like a "slow burn"
