Trying to redeem the free Pc copy of Portal 2 from Ps3

A bit of the backstory: My uncle bought Portal 2 for his Ps3 just after the release and he hadn't redeemed his free Pc copy. In 2013 I got the game from him since he got rid of his Ps3 and games. At this time I still was 8 and didn't bother about Pc games. Today, I remembered, that this was a thing and tried to redeem the copy now, because I haven't bought Portal 2 for the Pc yet. Sadly, it seems like my Ps3 can't connect to Steam (I have good Wifi, but still). On the other hand: Steam says that the redeem code is still valid, but it has to verified first, that I have the game on my Ps3. Is the whole thing still possible to this date or does it not work anymore? But if it still does, could someone help me?

nope i have a free copy but instead, i made a account on the ps3 so i couldn't sign in to the other.
and the game is old so i don't think it will work. it's better to buy it for 10 dollars then to working on redeeming.

The PS3 version of steam is longer supported which is why you can't sign into steam on PS3.

Portal 2 copies came with a voucher code or whatever in the box.
