(co-op) How the hell do I disable microphone?

I've searched for ♥♥♥♥ing hours. The only "solutions" I've found, besides muting the game is to go to audio options and "enable voice> disabled" which isn't there
There is nothing in any of the options menus for any of this.

clicking "setup mic" just brings up steams mic settings. which.. if i lower it all the way to 0. it changes my windows settings for my mic, so I cannot be heard in discord OR portal.


There is seriously no bloody way to disable mic while playing co-op. making being in a discord call impossible because you'll hear each other twice.


edit: Thanks but that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ solution. it should be in the main game menu. not hidden behind a command console

when you want to turn on / off voice faster use console command voice_enable 1 / 0
