BUG Stuck in chapter 6

After I open the door at 5:40 and walk through it the next area does NOT load. This chapter was bugged from the start as it spawned me with an invisible portal gun. Someone recommended I use the console command "respawn_entities" to fix it. It worked for the invisible portal gun.

Did I break the game with that command? How do I progress to the next area?

I just restarted the chapter and it worked. Any other solutions if it happens deeper into the chapter so I don't have to replay long sections?
