Portal 2 (PS3) not connecting
Hello guys, anyone having the same problem (simply not connecting to Steam)? Other players are having the same issue.

Is it momentary or it will be forever impossible to play online on PS3?

I've been able to connect in the past, so it's not a problem of linking my PSN/Steam accounts

Well apparently valve stopped supporting this feature sometime in 2013. Idk

I was able to play a few months ago, I was going for 'Professor Portal' trophy but wasn't able to connect.

Most likely an issue with the servers.

Is Steam on PS3 version of Portal 2 still a think? Well, how's the experience in your opinion?

It was nice, better than playing co-op locally since both of you have only half of the screen.

Unfortunately it is better to organize with friends, but that's a common thing with co-op games.

Same issue here. Last week it was connecting. I tried everything, even replacing the hard drive and reinstalling everything. Just won't connect. I contacted support, but they're unwilling to help. If a game is not supported anymore, just give access to the DLC via PSN only. First you have to download update 1.04, adding the option for free DLC to the menu, but getting actual access to the DLC is impossible.

I was able to play last week and got all trophies, but from around 15th of may its impossible to sign in into steam overlay ;/ No idea what's happening. Lot of my PS3 friends have similar problem - they cannot sign in into steam on their PS3 :(((

My friend and I are also having this problem. It simply won't connect to Steam on PS3, meaning that online co-op is impossible. For the record, the last time we played online successfully was 13th of May

Still no success yet, it's really time to fix this Valve.. no way to download free DLC on the PS3 or buy the Sixense DLC at the moment. Either fix this issue or release an update for the game to install DLC 'without logging in to steam','via PSN' or 'load it from USB stick'. (I don't know how other games handle DLC on the PS3, but I don't believe they require Steam)

I can't connect either.
It stopped working after 15th of May 2018.
Is there any way to contact valve to report the issue?
This affects cross-play PS3 - PC and also have become unable to play PS3 - PS3
Please Valve fix it.

Send a support ticket to valve...

You can try contacting support, don't expect too much of it. They'll direct you to; https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5477-WPJM-9388&l=english and close the ticket.
The server required for connecting to steam is probably broken and it's cheaper to not fix the issue, at least all the time and effort saved by not maintaining infrastructure can be put in the development of Portal 3

Did anyone else contact support and got a real answer instead of basic useless troubleshooting?

the following is about CS:GO on PS3, but I assume the same applies here:
Originally posted by Valve support:
As you may know, GDPR legislation is going into effect worldwide on May 25th. Unfortunately, we no longer have an established process to deliver title updates for CS:GO on PlayStation 3 to make it compliant with GDPR. Because of this, we have turned off CS:GO's official game servers on PlayStation 3. The game will remain fully playable in offline modes, but PS3 CS:GO players will no longer be able to sign into Steam or play online against other PS3 players.
