Half-Life weapons

Can you get half life weapons or do you have to use gary's mod?

And Portal 2 isn't compatible with Garry's Mod.

Portal 2 still has the console command for the weapons but the code for it has been removed.

Half-life uses gold source, Portal 2 is source.

I don't think half life uses gold source since the weapons are avaliable in portal 1.

half-life source uses the source engine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoldSrc GoldSrc was literally made for half-life.

That does not answer my question.

Portal 2 isn't compatiable with GMOD what he means is that you can play the GMOD maps but all the textures and such will be missing from that game.

Portal 1 ran on the Source engine, same as Half-Life 2. You could spawn weapons there since not many changes were made to the engine.

Yes but portal 2 can't spawn them in since the code for it is removed + the weapon models are removed.

The models yes but the actual code for the weapons you can't since that is part of the source code and we don't have access to it.

you can't actually use half life weapons inside portal.

the code and models for the weapons are removed from portal 2, and half-life 1 was made with GoldSrc. half-life 2 was made with Source Engine.

portal 1 is a mod of hl2.
it installs a version of hl2 when you install portal without hl2 installed, but it doesn't contain that much of hl2.
but portal 2 is completely made from scratch, and that's why they aren't there.
