Portal 2 Won't Start [FIXED]

I've tried everything.
Updated Videos Card
Verified Files
Reinstalled The Game
Stopped AVG
NOTHING WORKS

Edit: Put -autoconfig in launch options

Did you tried rebooting your PC? That worked for me.

So I bought the game during this summer sale.
I installed it too but I had still to launch the game, which I did today.

The game starts, it show the Valve logo then the loading screen and then it abruptly closes.
I tried multiple things, like verifying game cache, disabling overlay, disabling cloud saves, etc.
Nothing worked.

So I reinstalled Steam. I pretty much deleted the whole Steam folder. Of course, I moved the steamapps folder somewhere else before deleting everything.
Then I reinstalled Steam, and didn't check the 'Run steam' at the end of the install.
Instead, I moved my steamapps folder back into the newly created steam folder and ran Steam manually.

Finally I launched Portal 2 and it worked.

The game is however 'unstable' for a HL source game I think. When I alt-tab the game crashes.
Strange.

there was a portal 2 security update on Jun 30. did your problems start after steam installed the update? report it to valve. might try rolling back graphic driver and see if that works.

It's seem than mine too. It's weird cause yesturday, it worked perfectly fine and the game doesn't have any new updates instaled. It's something is going on?
