Best Strategies so far?
Is it better to do a long run and visit every level so you get more Orb upgrades as you go
or is it better to skip and save time and straight to the later stages

Which class is most useful to level up first for Title bonus? I notice I dont have enough mana on most casters so maybe sorc title for mana regen is good
rogue gives money bonus and we constantly need money so maybe thats best
Paladin allows me to be a super tanky powerhouse and I can actually get late into the game with him

well the goblin cave i skip most of the time because you get 1 blue 1 orb and 4 random trinkets at the start of the next forest.
only take the goblin cave in if you need stone you get a buttload in there.....
or if you maybe want a good chance at a trade

I only just got to citadel and a few levels beyond but from what I saw the items you get from immediately entering citadel aren’t good enough to comfortably get me through further. I was way more powerful doing the long run, only skipping the caves. So on early levels I’d recommend a long run until your permanent skills are good enough to get you by at that point
True Strike drink > Dark Citadel > Light as many torches as you can.
When you get strong enough and have enough materials for your needs, skipping is way better choice, especially since you can select 1-4 "skips" in Dark Citadel shortcut fight. Been skipping Caves most of the time, you don't lose much by skipping it.

torches?

If your going for gameplay progression. Skip levels. If you going for resources, don't skip levels.

You will get more defined builds by not skipping levels. Sure you get items, but you miss out on NPCs that will help round your build out.
Not at all.
If you're looking for trinket dust Blue & Red, do the Dark Citadel with 4 torches.
For gameplay AND ressource : do the whole run. You miss a lot by skipping.

For your first character just run everything, you need to build levels/gear to make your current and future characters easier. Doing 0 or 1 or 2 candles sets you to the same spot so its only really worth doing the 3 or 4 version, but to do that you need to be ready for it.

If you are lv 15-20 or in ng+ then skip hands down, you get exponentially more xp and gold at the end levels that more then makes up for what you lose by doing a 4 candle citadel skip. Doing the 4 skip will set you back in trinkets but not by a whole lot and you should be able to make up for the difference just by being good/strong enough to finish the 4 candle fight.

And we always need stone, for a long time.
I have only been playing as the wizard so far, just past the stage where you unlock the warlock from.

I mainly use a frost wand and lightning tome. Because the frost wand has a fast attack rate, hits 3 times at long range for 60% per hit, while the lightning tome places a trap that quickly strikes 3 times, and only has a 1.5s cd, so you can prepare a minefield around a corner, pull the mobs and kite back as they kill themselves in your lightning minefield.

Magic missile with all the extra projectiles and bounce chances can be an awesome burst dps for bosses.

Dont really understand how or why the purple buff combo occurs, but when i accept getting its orb upgrades it stops procing.

Purple flash is combo meter, kill 10 things in quick succession to get it to proc. Gotta pick up a skill orb and pick it to get it to work sending out waves of energy that do damage. You can change combo activation to dash or parry at your town library.

don't you skip a bunch of ability upgrades if you skip that far ahead?
also in ng+ you cannot skip at the beginning so you have to run everything anyways.

You lose a couple at most, but most builds don't need that many skill orbs, anyway. It's also not in an amount that would kill you, either.

you get 4 skill balls from the skip so its not that bad. yep every iteration of ng+ you basically start fresh with clear but once you start getting enough gear and levels it because fast enough to get back to the 4 skip.

yeah my dumbass didn't notice the skill orbs and just assumed you don't get any.
