Stat distribution
How do you distribute stats? I am kinda putting all into primary and then put some into hp and mana now and then. Has anyone calculated the math, soft and hard caps etc?

I've been doing around 3 points main stats for 2 in hp... So far I've seen gear that requires like 120 main stat so you do need a lot of that either way.

There's phases to stat distribution:
Phase 1: Pump primary stat with some in Wisdom and Vitality
Phase 2: Pump primary stat with larger focus into Vitality
Phase 3: Pump primary stat with no Wisdom, extra Vitality
Phase 4: Start considering adding Intellect / Dexterity for crit for optimal DPS

If you want to wear plate or a shield, you can use gear / respecs to temporarily wear it.

At some point, it might be worthwhile for example a caster with the primary stat of Int to put some stats into Dex for the weapon crit chance and damage. And probably vitality helps a lot.
But I've just been dumping purely into the primary stat, which on some characters is over 200 now, with all the other stats at like 20 or 30 :P

At NG0 with 0 knowledge about this game, 0 stats bonus from other class: enough point to use gear then rest to vitality. Game is easy if you have high hp, regen.
NG+2 and all other class level 20+: 100 vitality, rest to primary stat

I put as much points in the primary stat as needed for the highest req. gear. Then as much points into Focus to reach around 10 Mana regen and the rest all in Vitality.

Iv'e been spreading mine out more, levelling Vitality and Strength and then either Dexterity or the other two for mana and spell damage depending on the character. Seems to work pretty well so far.

crit% soft cap is 25% from attributes
hard cap 33%
the gear pieces with crit will scale down even if it says 5% crit will become around 3%

even on my paladin, i ignore strength because the extra armor isnt important and you get more than enough spell power from items/trinkets. much better to dump your points into int/focus
