Skipping combo ORB
Makes classes so much more powerful, not having your options limited for skill choice by the useless combo skill leads to far more powerful and consistent runs. give it a try on an alt!

they should just make it a trinket again way to many trinkets got shafted in the switch from 1 to 2

yeah there's so many trinkets missing in this game, and many of the ones here scale horribly.
am i missing something? 24 combo blades/waves is super good. and i activate it all the time. with a library u can change activation too. how are u better without the combo??? u seem to be straight trolling ppl

with a ranged char you most of the time just ignore the waves and if you dont pick the orb up you dont get the upgrade prompt for it

the combo mechanic is very weak in hoh2 compared to its potential in hoh1, combo set was stronger than the combo nova thing offered in hoh2. if you havent taken combo orb you cant even be offered that option from skillorbs, which means its easier to hit things that actually make your character stronger.

picking combo from the skillorb does not make your character stronger to any degree worth mentioning
Playing in multiplayer, I almost never get combo anyway. After the first character I have always skipped the combo orb to make sure my skill options are preserved. I think you should be able to turn it on or off at the library in addition to changing the activation, so you can freely bring it or not depending on the situation. Nova choice is always boring, even if it's useful sometimes.

I'd rather they just deleted the combo skill orb upgrades and add it as a permanent upgrade in the town's magic shop or library or whatever.
Combo not only shoots stuff out with that one skill, but increases attack and move speed. Playing well does require paying attention to combo and trying to keep it going. If you aren't using combo effectively you're not playing well. It's harder to use properly in multiplayer but regardless

  1. Switch combo trigger to dash.
  2. Dash x3.
  3. With full dash speed upgrades, maintain combo infinitely.

If you are in multiplayer and thus get combo less often, switch its activation up at the library.
Its great damage, and increases your move and attack speed, it buffs all classes.

why as ranged caster like the wizard you have 0 need for the combo because you never autoattack and if then you wont have a combo running if it doesn't give spellhaste ist useless and just clogs up the upgrades.....

The movement speed increase from combo increases that caster's survivability. And combo increases all damage, not just auto attack.
To each their own, I guess, but I love combo for all classes. I have a Trap-Happy Ranger that I like to spec in the trap skill plus carry a tome in my off-hand for maximum trap happiness. If I have Combo fully upgraded, I fly through multiple rooms of enemies, dashing in/out of groups and watching huge gobs of them disappear in one trap deploy. Then drop a tome glyph to blast some stragglers, then drop another triple-trap. Meanwhile my Combo aura is blasting away at trash mobs and the speed boost I get makes it very hard for enemies to catch me as I poke them with a dagger that inflicts Bleed and Vulnerability. Some bosses, like Shadowface, seem to be made with Combo in mind, as having kill-combo going in that boss fight is incredibly easy to do and makes that boss fight a giggle every time.

Does the combo orb scale with any kind of damage buffs? It really feels bad compared to everything else I am doing. By NG+2, I feel like I am getting zero value and re-leveling characters to skip orb or ascensions to make sure I am getting more shots at the core skills showing up.

I feel the combo system would be much better if it was built completely into town upgrades or went back to the trinkets like HoH.
Orb blasts are pretty weak but just the movement bonus from entering combo is very strong for survival, more so than having 2/3 choices on occasional perk selections.
