Report a translation problem
I think the first thing about improving times in general is to not bottleneck the input stream. Dividing the input stream into two branches is a common start for most solutions.
Look at how much time a node takes. Slower nodes should go at the end of a pipeline. Slow nodes should also have an input stream that has been trimmed.

For the record: With the exception of "Major Tom?" (Requires Isolated Forest) and "Fix Our Engines" (requires Random Forest), ALL puzzles before "Center of Virology" can be Gold Starred without upgrades.
