How many Essence Stones in Shamazaar?
I always find one fake stone and one that Zeo accepts but I vaguely remember reading that there are two or three fake ones. Is there any truth to that?

Heya. Yes this one can be a bit frustrating as the instructions are a bit vague. Other than being in the water Zeo drops another hint... that it is somewhere nobody would dare look or something like that.

It's in the pond behind one of the small temples (it should be Earth/Gandha). That's right next to the pond with fake gorgor.

One fake, One real. One frustratiion I have with it is that the notebook is massively misleading about your progress on that at one point: The fake one and the real one look identical to you (which is correct, they're meant to) but if you find the real one first before you find the fake one (which you can do by just wandering around so you have both of them by the time you talk to him), then he talks about the one being fake and tells you to go get the real one, *which you already have, but the game lies to you and tells you you still need to go find it.*

Worse yet, it bugs out Zeo so he won't talk to you now, as if your conversation to him was complete and he has no more topics to talk about. The next thing you need to do to advance is to talk to him again and then he'll notice you have the second, real stone. But he won't talk unless you leave the area and then come back (the de-spawning of him and re-loading that happens when he goes out of range and then comes back into range seems to fix the no-talk-to-him bug).

I spent forever wandering around looking for the second real stone, when I had it the whole time but the game notebook claimed I still had to go get it, and Zeo hadn't been talk-to-able so I assumed my time with him was done when it wasn't.

Feel for you bro. But the Shamazzar essence stone is probably the most asked question about Outcast and there's no shame looking it up on YouTube or gamefaqs.com

Looking it up didn't help. The relevant problem in this case was a bug the walkthroughs don't mention - that the next step is supposed to be that you can talk to Zeo a second time and he'll mention the real stone (that was already in the inventory when I talked the first time, but he doesn't mention it until you talk a second time), but in reality I was not able to open the dialog system (there was no option to left-click him) until I left the zone and reloaded it (i.e. go through a Daoka and return). That need to reload the zone to unstick his dialogue isn't mentioned in any walkthrough and I found it out entirely by accident.

Hm...I've played the original, the 1.1-remake and this remake about hundreds of times and never had that problem (and as I already know where the stones can be found, I already collect them before talking to anybody of course). Maybe a bug, yes - but I think it's your private bug ;)

Where is the Essence stone - because I can't find it anywhere. I was told it was 'in the water'. God I've been swimming around for an hour now.

Anybody?

The glitch is still present in the xbox vers. Give the tower stone first and it should play thru properly. Give the water stone first and it locks up the dialog.
