BH2 Unreal and VR port (Beta)
The Unreal and VR version is now on the main branch.

You will be able to select the version you want to play when you launch the game.
The Unreal version can be played with or without VR, you should also be able to swap between versions without issue.

The Unreal version is still in Beta, so please report any bugs / issues on the Bugs forum.

I just tried this game in VR. Is it normal that it's "only" a theatre-mode, where you play on a huge 2D cinema-screen? So the game is not in 3D like all other VR-games but flat, right?

Nope, you can run it in non theatre mode.

Thank you for your response. Can you give me a hint what I did wrong and what I must do to play it in 3D VR environment?
Just to be clear: the cinema room in VR is 3D but the game itself is shown on a huge cinema wall and is shown in flat 2D...

Yeah, that’s not right. The proper VR version isn’t in a virtual theatre. In fact, you can play any game in that theatre.

Are you running from the Steam library?

I’ve had this issue while developing. I think it’s unreal and steam getting mixed up.

There is an ‘exit theatre’ mode button. Try the and then run the game again.

Thank you, will try...

Check out the bugs forum. It's on the sticky. You can post a new thread there.

Hi; big fan of the original here! I'm trying out the Unreal version. I think the "Goodie Bag" perk isn't quite working; I am getting less than 10 "goodies" at start. I also have "Pump Up the Color" and "Pow Pow Pow" on for reference

Same problem. I can NOT get this game to run in VR mode... which is the whole reason I bought it. Tried multiple times but no luck.

I'm using an Oculus Rift S.

I'm getting fairly regular crashes in the menus. Your 'welcome' dialogue boxes are empty then the game crashes out. I had to bypass those in the normal version before I could get it to run in VR. The game plays great once I'm in but any dialogue boxes seem to crash it. There's an error box comes up on the desktop.

I noticed that performance in the VR mode is very inconcistent. I think it has something to do with the resolution of the game- If I leave the game to render at even just 100% resolution of my Index headset, the game can't keep up and reprojects like crazy, and once the visualizer effects kick in, there's tons of awful spikes and drops in frames. As well, most pop-up menus are devoid of text for some reason.

I found that dropping to around 70-50% render resolution, the performance improves somewhat, and text in the pop-up menus return (maybe? Some boxes still seem to be empty, it's inconcistent). Though, it gets a little crunchy visually, and the visualizer effects still cause those terrible spikes. Some in-game settings for VR visuals would be nice.
