Station Architect is essentially now finished and will be releasing at the end of the month! It's been a long time coming, and I'm really proud of the work, bug fixing and optimisation that has gone into the new mode (and overall). I'll post some patch notes on release day ;)

A few important things to note, obviously if you already own Station Generator you will get Station Architect as the update so you don't have to worry about anything. If you don't already own Station Generator, the price will be going up from USD$8 to USD$10 on release date so if you want the old price, buy before then!

And of course, the name will change from Station Generator to Station Architect, to reflect the new mode.

If you weren't aware, there is a new mode in Station Architect called 'Create', where you can create your own space station maps from scratch with a simple drag and drop mechanic, or import stations from generate mode for those few final touches (Or entire rebuild if it comes to it). Generate mode remains so you can still generate stations with all the options therein.

The next update is finally almost here. With the addition of a create mode, functionality of Station Generator will be doubled. In the new mode you'll be able to edit stations you've generated to get them just right, or create your own station from scratch. More on that closer to launch.

Given the new functionality, and the ethos of the generator changing I will be changing the name of the app from Station Generator, to Station Architect. It makes more sense and it's a lot snappier! The change will happen with the update.

Another change, which is happening now is a move from SeveralBytes as my studio name to Wyvern Industries which I think suits me a lot better.

Just a quick little notice to let you know I'm still working away at the new update, here's what I've got going so far:

As you can see plenty of work done so far which I'm pretty happy with. I'll also be rebranding Station Generator as Station Archtect with the new update since it changes the whole ethos of the app. I'll also be upping the price to ten dollars but that won't affect anyone who already has the app as the update itself will of course be free to all current owners :)

The good news is there's light at the end of the tunnel as there's no more on the done list than the todo list!

Hey there folks, while I don't have a date for release yet, I thought you might be interested in hearing how the new build mode is progressing! These are the features I've implemented so far, in no particular order:

• Import a generated station for editing
  
• Change the size of the canvas
  
• Drag and drop rooms into the canvas
  
• Drag and drop corridors into the canvas
  
• Dropping a corridor onto a room will add the appropriate walls/doors configuration
  
• Added a satisfying (I think) click sound for when rooms and corridors are dropped
  
• Reintegrated the navigation, basic control and menu ribbons
  
• Added music and sfx
  
• Added the ability to save stations for editing later

Things are going well and really there's not a huge amount more to add before it's feature complete. However it is still as ugly as sin so I have a lot of work to do in the UI department (no surprises there) so that's gonna take a while to tweak and get right. With so much going on it's important that this is as intuitive as possible right out of the box.

That's about all I have for now, and I'm pretty happy with how it's going so far!

I've been really lucky and had lots of great feedback on Station Generator, and lots of suggestions to go with that. But one idea was suggested far more often than others, and that was for a build mode.

I'd previously shelved the idea of adding a build mode as it really isn't in the spirit of a generator but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. So I've started work on it.

There's no ETA on this as yet, as there's quite a chunk of work to go into this but it will be a pretty major update, adding in another whole function to the app and getting it polished to a level I'm happy to pass on to you, so it won't be too soon.

I do plan on increasing the price of SG to USD$10 when I finally release the new update but it will be an update so anyone who already owns Station Generator will get it for free!
