This game cost vs value is very high imo. There are tons of 3A games out there totally not worth the price tag. Remnant, on the other hand worth every penny.
But whom am I kidding, we are talking about Steam. ;-)
If not for the great game they made and so many of us love, then at least in hope they would reconsider this being the final DLC and make many more.
and i agree on that last sentence they should reconsidere this being the final DLC and make more content for this game
I understand why you are upset, and your points and feelings are valid.
However, the developer (Gunfire Games) is likely not responsible in this case, the publisher (Perfect World) most likely is.
It is the developers job to create and fix the game itself, but they often do not have the money to produce or "publish" the game, so they find a company with money and sell them their product. In this case, that product is Remnant, and the publisher is Perfect World.
Once the game is sold to the Publisher, it is their responsibility to insure the advertising, sale and marketing of the game to make profits. Contracts get signed with platforms, based on what is good for making the most profit at the time, sometimes with the developers feelings in mind, sometimes not.
In a purely business sense "on paper" the publisher made the right call. They have a game that has sold pretty well on one platform, but is nearing the end of it's life cycle, so they want to maximize their investment and move the game over to a second platform. It doesn't have to make good moral sense to make good financial sense.
If I were the developer, I would not "love" this, but I am also getting a PORTION of the money, so I will go along with it, because ultimately it's the publishers shot to make.
The publisher may have even been warned about the backlash by the developer, weighed the pros and the cons and said "nah, we're doing it anyway."
So... in that situation the developer has their hands tied. They want to put out a good product (which they do) and they want to keep balancing their game (which they do) but the sale of their product to a new platform is causing problems (which is not their fault).
It may take a day to fix, it may take a week, it may take a month... and you are right to be frustrated, but not at the developers, who I am sure are working nonstop to try to fix it, so they can keep you (and everyone) as a customer, and restore all the goodwill they have built with us so far.
This has been my TED Talk.
I’m completely ok with the fact that I can support the developers and publisher in a financial way. Hopefully, we will see another expansions, or even sequel maybe someday :3
This, exactly. I played the campaign for a little while, but I pretty much only play survival mode. And I pretty much only play coop survival mode because A) I'm not that good and B) Death at knockdown makes the game that much harder.
The game has been broken for a while now. I'm not normally one to ask for handouts, but the people that bought this game should be given the DLC for free for the trouble. They are only asking $10 for the DLC, but it isn't about the money; it's about the principle. This seems like Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition all over again. So, in that sense, this steaming pile is very "Souls-like," indeed!
I PAYED for a game that was functional until a week ago. Seems the money from the great number of copies that Epic payed for could go toward fixing the broken game for all the people that actually bought the game. A lot of us are rightfully upset. If you disagree with what people say, whatever; state your opinions. But no one likes forum police, dude.
I thought you were going to go, since Epic gave the main game away for free. Steam should do the same with this DLC! :)
