Multiplayer Unknown Error
Hey all, I'm hoping someone can help me fix this issue. My boyfriend bought me this game so that we could play together. I have completed the tutorial (I think,) but whenever I try to play on the "friends only" or "online" option and try to find a game I don't get any other screen just a notification pop up saying "Unknown error whilst checking multiplayer feature access."
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, linking my steam and epic games accounts and nothing.. It sucks because me and my boyfriend are long distance, so gaming is something we spend a lot of time doing together.
Please, help a girl out!

I hope the developers will understand their lack of aptitude and switch back from Eos to Steamworks.

ridiculous. now suddenly epic games launcher is a mandatory to play online? why isn't this informed? now i have to google and read these discussions to find a solution. very weird stuff.

any solution for steam users? linking an epic account cannot be the solution....

I have my Steam account linked with Epic and still get that message

Same here... I got the same error today.

I was playing with a friend (him on Epic and I here) and the game kicked me and since then I've been given that message.

I didn't get the game on Epic since I already bought it here (I saw no need since I already had it).
I had the game linked with Epic in order to play with my friends in Epic (I've tried unlinking, unistalling the game, reseting... everything for nothing). I've looked for any clues but the only info apparently is addresses to Epic Games players, so I guess this is an error, probably they fuc*ed up something in this last patch.

I bought both DLC's literally 2 days ago btw... So thanks for this amazing game but also f*** you, devs.

We're getting the same error. Everything I see through a google search references Epic, e.g. "Clear your epic folder". This is steam, we don't seem to have an epic folder.

Yeah, I can also not play multiplayer since 2020.08.13. Sadly they do not want to give us an option to switch back to Steamworks.

Any solution here?

Wtf is this ♥♥♥♥? And no one have a solution anywhere? I paid for this game when it was only available on steam and I somehow can't play it anymore because they sold it off to Epic?

Exactly. It is a shame really.

Well I figured out the solution, although no one is going to be happy about it. Because the game's multiplayer is running through the Epic launcher, you have to have it open to use the multiplayer, even if you're playing the game on steam. Otherwise, it gives you the unknown error code. Pretty backwards way to do it, haven't seen any other game this, thank god.

Yeah, this is already known, thanks. It is one way how some make multiplayer work.
Still, it would be nice if the devs just fixed multiplayer, so it works again for everyone. (Its broken since 13.08.2020 by the way..)

YEAH! Really sad that the game worked before EOS like a charm =(
Hope the devs give us someday a option to choose (EOS vs no-EOS).

doubtful, rumor is sweeney paid them (and/or the publisher) off to force it in, just check your game folder and you'll find epic's EOS-.dll in there regardless of whether you linked an epic account or not.
I know it is there, but it was not before ;D Thats why I and my friends can not play anymore since 13.08.2020.. (date of the file (EOSSDK): Thursday, ‎13. ‎August ‎2020, ‏‎19:01:30)
