Stuck in "Connecting"

Since the short update a few days ago, my spouse and I are stuck with "connecting" when trying to join each other's games until we automatically get thrown back to the main menu. This happens independent from the game's privacy setting, i.e., friends-only or public, as well as independent of trying to join through the server browser or via invitation. Unfortunately, verifying the game files did also not help.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

same here, I've been unable to join sessions recently. TrueEvil has been collecting reports on https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/13jw3rb/having_connection_issues/ , though I'm sure he'll see this post too.
Seems to be centered around europe. I already tried unlinking epic, firewall and steam settings without success.

Same problem here. My friends and I meet twice a week to continue our campaign and now all of a sudden they can't join our game anymore. Reading from Reddit it looks like the problem is mostly affecting Southern Europeans.

Please devs take a look at the issue and do something as this clearly is a result of your latest small patch. Rollback if nothing else helps.

What country do you live in? There has been a huge increase in players struggling with this issue, and most of them seem to live in parts of Europe.

For now, try connecting to a different region by using a VPN. It's solved the problem temporarily for at least one user.

We are currently trying to connect between two different countries, though that has not been a problem before, but yes, both in Europe as well: Switzerland and England.

I will look into the vpn option now, thank you.

Interestingly, I have the feeling that the Swiss side of the connection causes the issue rather than the UK one, as, yesterday, connections to other people's games (random public servers) were more often possible from the client in the UK than from the client in Switzerland.

Italy here, and TrueEvil thanks for your interest. I have alraedy talked to you on Reddit about this so thanks again for taking time to care. Unfortunately it seems that there aren't enough cases for the devs to care? We went from loving the game and calling it one of the most engaging coop experiences we have ever had (on hard difficulty), to being locked out from playing with no reasonable explanation other than a small, unmentioned patch that only affected Southern European players. So weird.

Same problem here (Italy). I was playing with a friend and it worked until last week. Now we're both stuck on "connecting" message when joining session. Pleas devs let us know when the problem is addressed.

Same problem for me as well. I cannot join any session for the last 2 days. I am in Croatia. Tried several things, but nothing seems to work.

Same problem here. I was trying to play it with a friend, we are both from Romania but after hours of trial and error the only way we could play is if we both used a VPN.

Same issue here, me and my buddy bought the game and can't play it together we're both located in Croatia...

What VPN are you using (what brand) and from where are pretending to connect with it? If that's the only way, we are going to do it that way. Thank you.

Southern Germany here. Was able to log in and play normally even after the small patch - however, since today I couldn't even create a session. After a few seconds of "Connecting" I would get dropped back into the Main Menu with the message "Unable to create a new session". ISP: Deutsche Telekom. Apparently you can circumvent this problem by using WTFast in "auto connect" mode - that seems to have fixed the problem for me, at least.

I'm using the VPN from bitdefender (since it comes free with the subscription of the antivirus) and i tried connecting from UK and it works to play with my friend that way (if we both connect from UK).
