"Loot Item" = Weapon/Armor/Ring/Amulet

Is it possible to find more than one loot item on a single map?

Is there a set number or a limit of how many loot items will spawn in an Adventure Mode world?

I mostly play survival mode. Searching every corner really sucks. Sometimes I find an item early on. If I knew there would be no more items found in the map, I could stop this torturous process of looking in every corner.

It seems armor is not found; only rings, amulets, and weapons. Armor is found through puzzles. Am I understanding correctly?

Are there places where loot items will NOT be found? For example: I assume loot items will not be found in boss arenas, but I look because I don't know for sure.

Any tips, aside from the "cheater" tool, for making Adventure Mode farming less painful would be appreciated.

Gear drops have fixed spawn points, if you see a skull laying on a corner but no item there, then you got unlucky. You might get 5 items on a map, or no item at all. Also nothing spawns on boss rooms, sometimes there's a chest but its a straight line. Armor only drops from specific dungeons or events.

What i suggest doing is, start a adventure map and run through it, if it's not in your path, don't bother looking for it. Some maps are easier to explore, i find Corsus (third map) and the Snow DLC map the easiest ones to find loot without going much out of your way. Earth is probably the worst one.

I assume you mean per adventure world when you say map and not a single zone of a world? Because I've never seen more than one purple & one book per zone.

At the top of my head, Drifter's Mask (an actual armor item) is one of the purples that also can be found as loot. But most armor is awarded from bosses, quests, and events.
