Best solution is for him to never get into leaping range, but that's not always possible. If he gets in swinging range, roll away like mad.
Dodge @ 0:55 and another at 2:12.
In short, if you dodge backwards you're setting yourself to get combo'd. Dodge forward to go behind him instead - he won't followup if you're out of his LOS after his first swing.
Thanks for this, this helps.
But god what an irritating boss fight.
The UK himself isn't much of a threat at all. In fact, when he doesn't have his swords out, you can use him as a meatshield -- you see me do it right at the very beginning of the video. Enemies that try to shoot you will shoot him, but most won't try to seeing as they technically don't have line-of-sight.
It also helps that the Spore Shotgun is my favourite weapon (great against hordes of minor adds - they die just walking into the cloud and the AoE DoT prevents UK from generating health from the pool).
Honestly, once you know how to dodge his jump (wait a second for him to land, then just dodge behind him), the rest is a cake-walk.
Just beat him, the dodging behind him worked like a charm. Thanks for your help, it was the only thing I didn't manage to do. : ) Since I died to that combo, but afterwards nuking him with a shotgun + Breath of the desert mod allowed me to nuke nearly 50% everytime he started to heal, so he ended up being locked most of the time once he did it once.
