This will be my review. Can't post it until then.

Solo: Buyer beware ! As a solo game you can forget it. The first boss is terribly solo unfriendly. Let me explain. To heal with a heart is NOT instant. You sloooowly take the heart out, then slooowly apply it. And if you dodge roll you are dead. But the issue is, 1) the boss shoot arrow at you, and 2) if you are at a single place too long it make a bomb which insta kill you or nearly, and 3) it has a lot of tough melee adds which runs at you. which make it impossible to heal (remember you take the heart out slowly so by then either the boss red aura bomb insta kill you OR the melee adds do you in) AND the arena has a lot of obstacle making hard for you t navigate but with window so the boss can shoot at you from everywhere.

With more than 1 guy maybe doable. But solo ? I think this is beyond normal, this is hard maybe impossible.

I soloed the whole game. Of course, bosses are a pain in the ***, but both in solo and in coop.

No regret, I had a lot of fun.

i agree, i play it solo and i will finish it but it's not good for most people because it involves the AI cheating and infinite spawns and bosses with infinite spawns

I disagree, the game plays fine solo.

It's more fun in coop no doubt. But it is 100% fine in solo is both fun and manageable...

Super funny how I solo'd my entire first playthrough of the game and now started on hard were it has somewhat of an actual challenge. This isn't a solo players beware its more like you should beware.

I hate Dark Souls, but I'm enjoying this game solo so far. I don't know if I'll ever get around to finishing it (I've got a kid, so game time for violent games is pretty small), but I think I've gotten my 4000 yen worth so far. :)

I agree, game is really hard for solo play. But i dont like multiplayer and i finished remnant solo. i died more than 10 times some boss fights. Biggest problem is slow healing but boss minions are very fast..its the main problem...

The game is advertised as doable on solo. The best suggestions I see above are practice makes perfect and upgrade your armor and weapons ASAP. Also, just for the record, my system runs hot as hell when playing Remnants. After about three hours of play, it set off the temperature alarm (beeper): i7-5930 (3.50 GHz; 6 cores), 16 GB, Windows 8.1, Nvidia GTX 980 Ti, liquid cooled. Graphics settings (by the program) are all Medium. Except for the heat problem, it looks and runs great so far playing solo.

Solo is definitely viable. There's people finishing Nightmare solo. You have to practice and get better, OP is probably one of these guys who likes when stuff is handed to him with no real challenge.

Game feels way more forgiving than Dark Souls. I-frames seem generous. Enemies don't have bs tracking. Finished the game with all my gear in the level 7-10 range. Most frustrating thing I encountered was the lack of knockdown protection, so getting knocked on your butt was almost always certain death.

The boss I struggled the most with was definitely the dragon, Singe. But then I even beat the final boss on my first try. A lot of attacks you can simply walk away from to avoid. Never invested in the "faster item use trait" but I also never had a problem with using items mid combat thanks to walking speed usually being fast enough to avoid attacks so long as you aren't moving in a straight line.

Going through the game on hard mode now and it feels like a real challenge. Also watched some streamers going through the game on Nightmare mode where almost everything is a one-hit kill. Looks like an actual nightmare.

Shroud is the only starting boss I haven't gotten yet, so I can't tell you how hard that fight is or give any tips. But I can tell you that when I started this game for the first time, it did take me several tries to conquer the first boss. These kind of games reward persistence and paying attention to every detail. Don't give up!

This game heavily relies on sound cues, so grab some head phones. At the start of the fight head right or left all the way to the end where you have a two story building. Stay in there moving top to bottom looking for adds and shooting the boss when he enters. You can avoid the bombs automatically because there is a sound cue before he releases. Just start dodging until they are over. Iirc it sounds like an alarm.

@rush I basically tried that, rush the boss , shotgun him in the face. I do 512 damage and basically then all melee stun lock me or immediately afterward i get fire bombed. Dead even trying to dodge. I tried pretty much everything from rushing snipping going into a corner , trying to misuse the AI, but sorry, it isn't "normal" to get stun locked and healed so slowly. The heart may as well not be here as it is usefull only if nobody is nearby.

And oh yes while I will not pretend I was good at dark soul, I trudged along up to the point it was too hard, but that was not right off at the bat at the first boss. Even the one in DS3 had pattern and was not cheap.

Sorry but you post what's going to be your review on the forums, where you basically are saying the boss is too hard for you...
Besides how you structured your "review" is not doing the game justice at all and I suggest to be more truthfull with something like: "The game feels to hard to solo(for me atleast) Recommended to play with a friend".
Would also like to point out that your complaint about dragonheart usage takes pretty much as long as healing up with a humanity in Dark souls 1.

It's ok to think a game is hard but posting that kind of review on the forums has it's own gravity that simply pulls the "GIT GUD" people instantly. And if it's a review you're still working on why not save it in a text file or something if you don't like it when the "GIT GUD" crowd rallies to your post?

If you wanted to post for the devs to see then focus on the core issues you have with the game.

Hey man, I'm with you. The first boss destroyed my interest in this game already as well, I think its kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game to make the game so hard people cant beat it. Before anyone gets a pitchfork, I have nerve damage and my hands don't respond properly all the time. Should I get blocked out of games like Cup head and Dark Souls because of a spinal injury?

Some people simply dont have the same talent as others. If you cant do it solo.....joining a group doesnt seem much better. I die all the time nonstop in this game. Is it fun YEA. Hard VERY.

At times can be very frustrating. All I have seen and done and bosses I took down was always in group game play. I couldnt even imagine to begin playing this solo and my gear is overly decent to attempt 1st boss solo and I cant imagine winning.

Even with good gear Shroud in group was a nightmare to fight.

The thing is you cannot judge badly the game only beacuse YOU find it difficult. I think difficulty is the main core of this game, just like dark souls series. When you buy this game you should be aware of the difficulty, so blaming the game beacause of that is silly. I too struggled a lot against some bosses but I still managed to finish it.

Moreover, when you are in coop, the damage and enemies' health scales with the number of players, you first think it's easier, it's not. Yesterday We struggled at three against a boss, when leaving the game doing it solo it was a piece of cake, the thing is one of us didn't deal enough damage.
