NO SIMULACRUM IN ADVENTURE MODE
adventure mode pros:
slightly different map orientations you can clear much faster for boss gear (that on pc you could read and reroll your save file to get pretty fast anyway).

adventure mode cons:
once you have gear if you actually want to +10 or +20 it you won't be able to b/c you need simulacrum, which doesn't spawn in this stupid mode.

super casuals will beat the story and leave. semi-casuals will want to play a few more times to kill bosses they didn't see and get gear they didn't get, but probably won't care about maxing out anything, but now they can do that faster with adventure mode before leaving.

for those that enjoy the mechanics and maybe stick around to 100% the game and need 83 simulacrums to max all the gear,.. YOU get to grind story mode 25+ times because simulacrum doesn't drop in adventure. enjoy.

basically adventure mode will shorten the amount of time new/casual players play on average, and still leaves 100%-ers grinding the same story mode layouts for simulacrum. this is bad for the life of the game.

Hmm, possibly an oversight? I was under the impression that adventure mode was basically a mini piece of the campaign re-rolled ie. it should have all the drops that that normal area of the campaign does. In that context it makes no sense that the stuff doesn't appear, especially when you need so much of it.

I was hoping for that too, but I haven't found a single simulacrum in adventure mode yet. Given that is the only thing I need at this point to finish upgrading everything to +20/+10 it is quite disappointing that is lacking from Adventure Mode....

...... no. player with 100+ hours 640 traits and all gear except 9 pieces of armor maxed at 20. have been doing simulacrum runs to finish out the tiny bit of content i need for 100% for the last 2 weeks. read patch notes, have played several adventure mode maps. in story mode simulacrum only spawns in certain spots. in my several adventure mode runs there have been no simulacrum.

maybe stfu if you are brand new and don't know wtf you're talking about....

I have yet to find a single piece of it in about 5 playthroughs of Adventure mode. I thoroughly checked every inch of every building. So it either doesn't spawn in adventure mode(making it pretty pointless) or it doesn't spawn every time and is rare. Either way its disappointing. Maybe it should be rewarded for killing the world boss.

i found one in Rhom on adventure mode, /shrug

places it spawns in story runs are earth: midboss dungeon, rhom: worldboss dungeon, corsus: first overworld region, yaesha: 2nd overworld region (possibly before or after the door). have you seen these areas with no simulacrum?

it definitely doesn't spawn in random overworld/side dungeon places

so Abe Froman, was it in the dungeon leading up to Clavigar/Harrow?

They said on the stream that it would have Simulacrums.

And there's your proof.

maybe. still trying to verify myself, and if his report is true then it would mean they're still static to the zones they used to spawn in.

and if that's the case: THAT'S STILL BAD. because ok sure they spawn in adventure, but a. corsus (which is the fastest guaranteed simulcrum to get b/c it spawns in the first area) doesn't exist in adventure mode, and yaesha's simulcrum drop is also an overworld drop instead of coming from a pre-boss dungeon like earth and rhom, and it doesn't look like it's spawning in that overworld for adventure mode.

so basically this would mean if you run adventure mode on earth and rhom you MIGHT get a simulacrum. but since layouts and bosses present are changed, you also might not. which means if you're on the simulacrum grind this mode is still useless for you.
Elenvin Sep 13, 2019 @ 12:39am
I really hope that's an oversight on the developers side.
Otherwise the glorified adventure mode is pretty much useless beyond grinding out the few items one might be still missing after the first few play playthroughs. Which you might of course also get in the normal game mode along with the guaranteed Simulacrums.
Warbreaker Sep 13, 2019 @ 12:47am
I still think Simulacrum should not be a requirement to upgrade armor but only weapons, I mean; when the game came out I took a week off work and playing the whole week I got 3 armor sets to +20 and many weapons of my choice as well, but that tells you how grindy that item is which I believe is not the developers intention to make the game grindy but replayable for the fun, etc.

On dev stream with baroo they said themselves simulacrums DO spawn. Just dont rush and look better. All there is to say.

I'm almost certain that you're guaranteed to get one on each world through story mode (the save checker on GitHub seems to confirm it as well). So it would be safe to assume that you should get at least one on adventure mode as well. As you said people just need to look better and stop rushing.
pcdeltalink Sep 13, 2019 @ 1:02am
Honestly for those saying people should stop rushing I'd wager that the people who have played this game long enough to get their gear to such high levels already know and understand the concept of carefully looking around for drops.
