What happened to the Beam Rifle? It got a major buff this patch.
Mod Generation is increased by damage bonuses. The farther you get in the game (improving your build and traits and such) the faster it will build. At end-game, it will charge in less than one clip in some cases. That's like 3-4 seconds from 0-100%.
When Beam Rifle reload was reduced, it became less brain-dead and required smart building around it (reload speed buffs/items etc). In team play, it was (and as of right this moment) the strongest weapon in the game... by a longshot (still is due to beam stacking).
When I mentioned the beam rifle i'm referring to its old original nerf, I supposed I wasn't very clear on that. In its original nerf it received a reload speed nerf that made it so that you could roll 2 or 3 times and still be reloading the weapon. Also, while the Beam rifle got a nerf, the build that it was good in got a nerf at some point, not sure what patch, so the buffs actually left the beam rifle about where it was before. The "Storm" Amulet that was the Elemental Amulet was turn from buffing all Elemental damage, to only buffing Shock damage, meaning that it can no longer be used to help the Beam rifle damage like in the past.
I am an endgame character, wearing the best rings and amulet, and with my perks all maxed out except for the newest ones, and the mod power generation speed on the Undying is still quite slow since the changes, to the point that like I said, the 5 min timer became a lethal blow. And before you ask, yes I tested it both hitting vital points, and on just body shots.
