I've always loved challenge, so i decide to go straight to nightmare mode.

...Only to learn the "Protect the root mother" is literaly impossible in nightmare, unless you got a mod from a boss, which i didn't get! Forget about trying to lure ennemies into me, since i die in one to two hit, depending if it's the small fry or the hulk.

Welp, that was dissapointing...

Oh well, i've rerolled my world, and will just enjoy it as an action shooter game instead of a "darksouls-like challenge" game.

It's possible without it, but probably not if it's your first time playing the game.

You can just reroll though, because I'm guessing you got Gorefist and the mode is dropped by the other one.

If you don't want to use a world analyzer you can run straight at the dungeon. If there is graffiti on the wall next to the crystal, you got Shroud.

nightmare is meant for a person already lvled. i beat normal hardcore and nightmare all solo. so it is possible

if it's a NG Nightmare, then yes, you need some luck to succeed. you could always spam some Adventure Mode Normal runs to get yourself some sweet gear.

Nightmare isn't meant for brand new characters. it's meant for someone that's already gone through the entire campaign and has well-upgraded weapons/gear/mods.

Yeah, it was my very, very first world. Well, on the good side, i don't need to remake a character, so that's realluy cool. But damn, i never thought there would be a protect mission, heh. Thanks to all the awnsers, btw. Those are some nice info.

I completed the entire game in Nightmare difficulty solo, it was not easy and it definitely wasn't my first play-through but it is possible to do so.
