A tale of two liz's mission is virtually unbeatable
Even on normal difficulty, the two NPC characters won't stay in cover, they get chain-killed by the little exploding ball guys, and they stupidly roam far from each other making protecting them virtually impossible. Having attempted and failed this twenty times in a row, I'm calling it: this mission needs to be re-balanced in a patch - double their health, make them stick to cover, cut the exploding dudes, something! It's insanely frustrating.

Are you solo? I did it solo by staying right near the entrance and then all the monsters came to me, which kept the Liz's out of harm's way. Maybe I got lucky though

It's far from unbeatable it just has a high RNG factor. To put things in perspective I did this mission 3 times on the same day a while back and beat it solo on nightmare each time. Other times I had trouble even finding the second Liz before they died!

In my experience to have the best chance of beating the encounter you want a decent trait rank. This is because you have to both draw as much aggro as possible and kill as fast as possible. It's also vital you aggro / kill certain key enemies like the exploders, exploding ball throwers and the machine gun brute. If you let them pile onto a Liz your likely to lose.

My advice is to do it on normal and play solo for fast kill times. If you have the right kit then run a pet build using turrets and tentacles. Sprint straight down the middle from the fog. Try and clear the area and acquire the Liz's. Then drop the turrets on the left hand side upward ramp. This is a great perch for them to slow down / kill trash mobs (including the exploders). Drop a tentacle in the left hand side underpass. This will kill any trash wandering through.

Once the above is done if both Liz's are on the left its just a case of going all out killing and refreshing the pets. If one Liz goes far right it gets much harder and you'll need to leave the pets to hold the fort and go try to keep right hand Liz alive (this one always seems suicidal!) with just shooting and your one remaining tentacle.

Even doing all the above you can still lose but you will get it eventually. The key is to just go ham, use pets to be where you can't be and take out the biggest threats yourself. The fact you say there getting killed by exploders means your at least not doing the correct prioritisation. There one of the biggest damage dealers and also the easiest to kill. So you should be expecting them to arrive and killing them all in a few seconds assuming the turrets don't do it for you.

This.

You must make the monsters aggro on you. If they go after the Liz's they can die. You also have to get lucky that one of the Liz's doesn't decide to get stupid and try to fight it out with a monster up close and personal. If the stars align it is easily possible.

Can confirm, it can be done solo. I've only done it once and beat it without prior knowledge of how it worked.

I used turrets and swarm

I haven't played the mission enough to say 100% but I got the impression the wave of pink exploders was causing significant damage to the npcs, the times where I made sure the exploders did not reach the npcs were the times they stayed alive and I didn't really need to do any heavy babysitting outside of that one wave of spawns

Yea you have to focus on the exploding nut sacks and the elites that spawn. You can ignore all the enemies that just fire bullets, they don't seem to do a whole lot damage.

When the nut sacks spawn pop a frenzy dust and focus on them. Same thing with the elites. Using Rattle weed were would be very effective here.

If you dont have it, play earth adventures until you get Shroud boss. It should be the 1st one you face so shouldn't take long to find.

Stay behind the barricade when you first enter. Most of the enemies will come find you and not them. I've done it a dozen times and only once did one of them die.

I did it solo while rushing forward. It's difficult, but far from unbeatable. Just have to keep an eye on both of them and make sure they are clear of face-2-face encounters. It took me about 6 resets, if one of them died, I stopped fighting. This was on a non-HC character by the way.

I've beaten it mutiple times on both normal and hard difficulties, both as solo and co-op. I camp in the square that you start at. They both seem to live most of the time if I stay in that square, not moving past the vehicles. You can confirm by checking on the liz's after it's down to 1-2 enemies specials left and suicide if required. Far from impossible.

At the very least, the Liz's AI should be tweaked so that they *don't* decide to stand still in the clouds of fart gas.

I know it can be done, but I couldn't manage it. Fortunately the locked door was bugged so you can glitch through it. Dunno if that ever got patched.

Did it yesterday by encountering this location for the first time on max difficulty... Didn't even know they should survive, or what the hell is going on. As someone mentioned I was too standing just in the entrance zone, single shoting everything. I suppose you should just try a little more, cause it's random. The prize for this is crap btw (

I done it solo on second trial, go with alot summoning mods and alot running around to protect the NPC.
Korii Nov 14, 2019 @ 12:57am
I've done it several times (20+) and it only failed once due to my fault ...

The Trick with staying ant the entrabce works wonders.

The only time I ever lost this mission was on my very first Earth run on my first playthrough when I had no good gear and no real understanding of the mechanics.

Every other time I just killed every enemy I could see ASAP, prioritising Bursters and Elites.

If you're having that much trouble, just keep an eye on the NPC health bars that are clearly displayed, and use Liquid Escape or die by enemy if one croaks. You can retry that way.

Swarm, Breath of the Desert, Rattle Weed, Stormcaller, Hunter's Mark, and Howler's Immunity are all decent for this fight.
