Lets talk end game builds...
Currently I'm on my 3rd playthrough going into Nightmare difficulty. We're talking, full builds here of +20 weapons and armor, +10 boss weapons, and a whole lot of hopes and dreams. I'm just curious how far off of other people's builds are compared to mine and where either myself or others are having issues with their builds. Current build I'm running I call "The Boba Fett" since it focuses on elemental damage through the Spitfire SMG and the Beam Rifle....that and I happen to like Star Wars and this set gives you that Mandolorian, bounty hunter look.

Current build is as follows: The Boba Fett
Spitfire SMG +10 (Flamethrower mod, cannot remove)
Beam Rifle +20 (Sentry Turret/ Corrosive Aura for bosses)
Guardian Axe +10 (for mod power generation)

Bandit's Helm +20 (for 10% chance to return bullet spent)
Radiant Chest/Boots +20 (for 1.5% crit chance/damage for 2 secs, 10 stacks)

Storm Amulet (+20% element damage for Beam Rifle 'radiation' and Spitfire SMG 'fire')
-OR-
Leto's Amulet (I like the armor, but its heavy, and some bosses need mobility)

Devouring Loop (REQUIRED) (with lvl 20 trait there's 20% chance to hit for 300% damage)
Hunter's Band (+25% weak spot damage for bosses)
-OR-
Ring of Balance (passive +10% damage boost)

Main Traits (280 points to use, but covering majors)
Mind's Eye lvl20 (Percentage increase to ranged damage)
Kingslayer lvl 20 (+% crit damage)
Executioner lvl 20 (+% crit chance to fuel Radiant set bonuses and 'Devouring Loop)
Catalyst lvl20 (needed to fuel 'Devouring Loop' ring's damage)
Quick Hands lvl 20 (faster reloads means more dps)

The other points are covering the defensive traits while getting more through leveling/co-op, but the ones covered above are doing the bulk of the DPS work for me.

So far, the build works wonders for just about everything. The only boss I ever consistently have issues with is "Shroud". The Spitfire SMG does well with the hoard here, but the Beam Rifle I feel takes too long to ramp up the damage and this is a stick and move kind of fight. Otherwise, there's consistent and fast damage for just about every scenario through the Beam Rifle.

So what are your thoughts? Any ways to improve the build? What are you guys running? What other builds are there that are fun to play?

Leech God:
Any standard gun - Mantle of Thorns (unstaggerable and 50% melee damage reduction)
Any standard pistol - Howler's Immunity (30% damage reduction)
Riven (Fricken LIFE-STEAL man)

Void armor set (increases damage for damage taken)

Leech Ember (necessary life-steal)
ring that increases melee attack speed (Dont have but it would be the best thing ever to have for build)
Veangence Idol (hp gets low? then you heal even MORE)
~~~~~~
possibly amulet that increases melee damage after crit (once again I dont have)
Vigor (so you can be a tank)
Triage (Improves healing)
Any traits pertaining to melee
Any defensive traits
Excels at being a Friggin tank and murdering things, like bosses that dont fly or run away
I was thinking something similar along these very lines. I've been reading that people are complaining that melee isn't that great in this game and I've been tossing the ideas around in my head about this very type of build. I might have to give it a shot and get back to ya. Kudos for the idea!
I just started randomizing my loadout every zone to keep it fresh.
I feel like builds are pointless, and it boils down to what you feel best playing w/ equipped.
I throw random stuff on, just anything that has good armour, good resistance for the time and good mobility.
Any Rifle or Crossbow and either Defiler or Fire SMG, and i'm good to go.
No Point sticking with one thing, cause you got elements to deal with too.
Killed the Ent with the Repeater and Bug Swarm Mod on Hard, broke his legs and got the achievement for "No Damage from a Boss", all on a controller...
Builds are whatever you got on hand man
This is just a fun build to play.
However, if you want raw power and borderline cheating - try Devastator + Bandit's Armor Set.
I run with:
- Particle Acelerator +10
- Magnum (Rattle Weed) +20
- Guardian Axe +10
- Cultist set
- Devouring Loop
The extra is an amulet i feel like and the exp ring for even more trait points.
Im sure this isnt the best build in the world or anything, but i do find it fun to use.
