I read all the logs I came across, I don't think a majority of what I brought up was mentioned. I thought he was the reason the root was there on earth, but not the "root" (pun) of it.
For example, one log in the W13 basement says France nuked itself to try and kill the root.
As for the root itself, i can only theorize where it came from, but we know ford had no intention of it becoming the "root" we have now.
Making it a pure grinding game with just a small explanation of why the world is like this etc, and then just letting the environment tell the story would have been far superior.
But yeah as pointed out when rerolling your campaign you get to choose from the ashes so Im assuming they're working on that stuff :P
This game apes some of Dark Soul's worst aspects.
