Thats what im doing, but , you understand, that it takes some time to spot this...♥♥♥♥....
This isn't true.
I joined a game and instantly received 150,000,000 scrap and there is no way I can remove it. On another save, I joined someone and received 540 trait points which instantly maxed my character. Could not revert that either, had to delete the save.
So yeah, this is a problem and it can indeed ruin your character. Unless you're into instant max level, I guess, in which case you're probably already a cheater.
As for a ban hammer, I'm assuming that these saves are locally saved so I wouldn't expect anything negative to happen to you for having an obviously cracked save file. There's clearly no cheat protection whatsoever given that I've already joined probably 4 or 5 games that were obviously hacking.
Let the cheaters do whatever they want in the offline / modded version but they need to be vac banned the moment they enter the online only option.
haha, no. I'm not doing that. Downloading cheats to undo cheats is like curing cancer with more cancer. I get that you're trying to 'help', but this suggestion isn't something I'm willing to do nor should I need to hack the game to undo hacks someone else applied to my save file.
In fact, it's absurd that strangers are able to make effective edits to my save file without my permission in the first place.
This is the #1 emerging issue with this game.
The developers should probably take a look since it's only a matter of time until multiplayer becomes a plague of hackers. It won't be long until every game you join grants infinite levels, ammo, etc. or, even worse, they figure out how to simply corrupt your save file completely.
That's the problem in a nutshell for how simple it is for people to hack the game. The fact that it's just as easy to hack it back to what it was isn't a selling point, it's a reason to refund the game.
I don't mind people hacking single player games, or even games like No Man's Sky, but in games like this it's cancer.
Not to say I don't appreciate the attempt at help, don't get me wrong, but I'm very much against using cheats to combat the fact that my save file is open to every random yahoo I join. That's just incredibly terrible design, full stop.
Say, like making edits to your save file without your permission? I guess being granted infinite money and infinite trait points doesn't break people's games, even when there's nothing in game that can fix those issues outside of deleting your save file and starting over from scratch?
You may not even know they have those hacks applied to their game until you've already loaded in, at which point it's too late. There were no warning signs when I joined into the game that ruined my save file, for sure. Outside of infinite money and trait points, they didn't have any obvious hacks.
You literally don't know what you're talking about. When I say corrupt my save file I mean they add infinite Xp and cash and there is no way to reverse it without cheating myself. That instantly ruins that save file in my view.
And I know it's possible because I've already had it happen. Twice.
Note the amount of cash I have in this screen shot.

Note my trait level.

I got everything I have legit, then I join some random game and get granted infinite stuff? That's irritating since if I want to play this save again I'll feel like I didn't get where I am legitimately. In fact, if I ever buy anything again or use a trait point, I didn't get there legitimately.
