Running out of ammo

So I just got to the swamp zone and I keep running out of ammo on just the first area you start in due to the mobs taking a ton of hits to kill and them hardly ever dropping ammo packs. My weapons are at +10 right now. Should they be leveled up more than that for this area?

There is also an enemy here that I can't even kill for some reason..... I shot him like crazy, he goes down on his knees then he resists ALL my attacks including melee until he magically gets all his health back and keeps coming at me. I tried shooting him in the head, back, limbs, nothing works. How do you kill this thing?

You have to shoot the glowing part of the head while he is down to kill him, its a really small hitbox too.

Same here this area is killing me.

Yea this guy is insane. Managed to kill him with the beam gun. When he is down you fire at his head to kill him

What also bugs me is the elite mob with the green larva on his head. He is so frustrating as well. He keeps spawning new mobs. If you fail to kill the larva then he reforms and spawns more mobs. Which if you kill spawns more elites.

My equipment is at level +10 which I guess means I need to level up.

I tired shooting the glowing spot and his head and it did nothing. Just keeps saying resist.

Ok I managed to kill him. Maybe my game was bugged earlier but shooting the glowing spot on his head worked.

My problem now is I'm pretty much out of ammo for both my weapons. The mobs in this zone are not dropping enough ammo. Most of the time they don't drop any ammo at all and I'm slowly running out.

Melee him when he kneels.

Open your equipment page and check your stats. See if your Defense and Offense stats are a white square. If they're red arrows pointing down, you'll need to upgrade. If they're green arrows pointing up, you're over the area's level.

But also, ♥♥♥♥ the swamp, haha. Was a drag.

Offense is the white square/diamond defense is a red arrow pointing down. I don't understand why I'm running out of ammo so easily. I am shooting everything in the head or the weak spots when I can but they just aren't dropping any ammo

Just ran out of ammo for my beam rifle and now all I have is some pistol ammo left.
Edit: now I'm down to just 2 clips of pistol ammo and I'll be completely out. This is without me ever missing a single shot the entire time.

The game scales with you when you first enter an area AFAIK. So you will have to level up in comparison to where you were when you entered if you want to have an edge.

Only problem for me is galvanized iron doesn't seem to drop anywhere. Just been able to buy it off the girl in Ward 13.

buy an ammo box.farm some coin/scrsp..go back ward 13 and stock up on ammo box

also try an avoid some of the enemies...you dont have to kill them all to proceed..

I have a bunch of ammo boxes but you shouldn't have to use those to progress through zones. Those should only be for emergency in boss fights. Also I do have to kill every enemy, that's just how I play video games. Even in Dark Souls games I always kill every enemy in each zone. I guess I'll be forced to use an ammo box if I don't get some lucky ammo drops.
