Great innovative idea for a boss , clap clap guys!
and once you figured out the mechanics, it was pretty easy
>Kill first phase.
>Stay on the other end of the arena so you can just literally walk back and forth to easily dodge fireballs.
>drink bloodwort when inside the nightmare zone, kill enemies to replenish health and earn stacks.
>exit and lay waste to him with some hard-hitting weapons/mods til his weak point opens
> Shoot that ♥♥♥♥
>rinse and repeat
No need for a struggle, he shouldn't even be hurting you.
The ability only stretchs out fights and it's damage buff is nothing,
The guns damage is trash and too short ranged.
For beating the end boss i was expecting a more epic weapon what i got was something so weak that i prefer most secondarys over it (not including the lengthy reload).
It's sad when the end boss weapon is outdone by the bouncing crossbow which is a joke weapon.
I use devastator cross bow and SMG with swarm mod.
shoot him one with the crossbow to get 5 mod stacks, then use the swarm/smg to do very high DPS. when he breaks his shield after maybe 1 clip+swarm, cast swarm again use devastator's mod to shoot him in the head. for me it knocks down around 1/10th of his health bar a hit plus swarm is eating it away just as fast. :)
No matter how many enemies I kill in the dark zone, his weak spot never opens when I come out. He animates like it should but no weak spot appears. It doesn't matter what weapons and mods I use either.
I just reroll my world when I get to him now. The rest of the game is fun as hell, this fight just isn't.
They should really focus the next update on fully revamping the design of this... "boss" to be more in the vein of the rest of the game's bosses. (still keeping it harder, of course) I mean, you don't even have to dodge or make quick skill-shots or anything. The whole fight just feels... slow and, well... "lonely" I guess would be the word? I don't know, it was weird.
Of course the artistic design is kind of neat, I guess... (again, Dreamer/Nightmare doesn't really fit the rest of the game artistically either, which was another reason this "boss" was lame - looked more like it belonged in a silly JRPG.) The rest of the game looked amazing... but this? Kind of cringe... It was like "Godchild" from Mass Effect 3 doing a cliche' Final Fantasy Ultimica transformation inside a BLAND "digital-looking" arena? Eww wtf? Why?
Whatever. Remnant is still a solid 9/10 for me. Would recommend.
