Is There a Point to Changing Difficulty?
Is there any point to actually playing on Hard or Nightmare? Is there bonuses to exp or loot drop or anything by upping the difficulty ? I haven't really noticed too much of a difference except in how hard it is. Maybe a bit more scrap but I can't say it's too different. Wondering if any of you have a better idea. Or is Nightmare just for the skill challenge.

Higher difficulties grant an experience point bonus that is, in my opinion, negligible. The sole purpose for selecting higher difficulties is if you, the player, want to have a greater challenge in Remnant: From the Ashes.

Thanks buddy, I figured it was something like that cause I didn't really notice a too much of a difference in scrap gain or resource gain.

Has nothing to do with your difficulty but rather your gear average (Best in slots in inventory) when you re-rolled your world.

You can only get hardened metal from hard difficulty and up.

Then it's deffinately more common, as me an my friend have done quite a bit on normal with +15 sets and not a single drop. Everywhere I've seen also says it's only Hard and up, but whatever.

Hardened metal drops on normal difficulty. All scrap and materials drop on all difficulties, its asinine to assume otherwise.

when you enter an area first time it determines what resources will drop and how often, it depends on what resources you need, didnt got any hardend iron until upgraded 2/3 of my stuff to +15, so most stuff need hardend iron, rerolled my world and found hardend iron in masses

It's hardly idiotic to think that harder difficulties drop better things, most games that have harder difficulties have reasons or rewards for doing them.

That's because you're running on areas that you've out-leveled. Then you re-rolled into the Hard difficulty and the areas difficulty are re-scaled. That's it. It's not more common. Stop spreading misinformation, please.

I did read somewhere that glowing fragments are only obtainable on hard and up. Or by playing survival mode. So up to you mate. I just switched my game to hard.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
