In other words, I've found for *me* that upgraded non-used gear makes the world generate more of the better irons.
So, make every set i have unupgraded need galvanized and then pray for extra drops? lol
And when you finally restart your save, you'll get just the newer materials from the start and that also helps.
That said, I believe the crazy junktown merchant on Earth shares inventory spawn rate with Ace, but has separate inventory. So if she's selling you 50 of a kind of iron (like galvanized), he should have it too. I've kept him alive for a whole playthrough and visited him a couple times and his inventory restocked each time.
Just letting ya know this didnt work
