Harrow boss thoughts
I have loved every single boss until I fought him. He was awesome, but his fight is ridiculous. I killed singe on my first try without taking damage. Alone. I killed gorefist on my second attempt. Alone. I have fought like 4-5 others and have had relative ease. Harrow was different.

I tried the fight at least 9 times (counted) and each time I'd get him down to about 10-20% health and he'd do some cheesy ♥♥♥ resident evil (I love/hate RE but I'm not playing RE, am I) crap that you cannot get out of where he impales you for an instant death. Absolutely infuriating. That was not in the game up until this point and it was not fun, it just made me want to crap on my PC and ship it to France. (Humor, chill out)

The boss himself was not ridiculous, the amount of minions he has kind of is but I could deal with them. It's the poor design on making him artificially more difficult with the instant kill attack. Even when I Dodge and get out of his way and use the ring of evasion, I still did non stop due to that attack. I have like 10 or so weapons and they are all upgraded very far. I have the same amount of mods. Tried a variety of tactics and strategies to taking him down but I cannot get passed him. To be honest, it made me not want to play anymore and totally killed my enjoyment in the game. I had absolutely loved every single moment up until that point and when I saw him I said "oh he looks awesome" but fighting him was a turn off.

I had some issues with other bosses where I'd die several times but then finally got it and felt great like I really accomplished something. With him, not so much. I finally got it by literally getting him glitched on a wall. I completed the area and went back and reset my world because I was disappointed that is how I had to kill him. I had watched gameplay videos and did some reading on how to kill him and none seemed to work. Getting him stuck did the trick. Very disappointed. Now I start over, but for what? It honestly hurt my opinion of the game immensely.

I'm a game dev myself and I just feel this was a poor design choice. I'm not looking for an argument, just wanted to give some honest feedback. This is my opinion and in no way what the general playerbase feels.

Killed him on my first try, not sure what the big deal is.

Yeah, I did that with a few bosses too. Not sure what I was doing wrong. Just suddenly even when I'd Dodge, I'd lose control of my movement and be picked up and die immediately every time. No fair = no fun. At least give me a chance.

What was your strategy? You have to fight on the center platform.
Running around the tunnels is a trap and will get you killed every time.

I was fighting in both the tunnels (upstairs) and the main room on the center platform. Downstairs was a slaughterhouse whenever I went down there due to the tight corridors and the insane amount of minions. In the main room, it just seemed like I'd get overwhelmed, even when using my best weapons and preferred loadout.

Pay no attention to this guy. It's perfectly fine to jump off the ledge onto the bottom floor to get away from adds.

When I would do that (if I didn't get overwhelmed) it would only prolong the inevitable it seemed. I had too many minions on me to pay attention to harrow and he'd come out of nowhere to ruin my day. Almost every time. The times I had the most success was upstairs...

Well I had to get away from the slaughterhouse that was the center platform. I was the only player alive and my other team mate was dead, so there was DOUBLE the adds just for me. There was no possible way to hold my ground at the center platform, so I had to hop off over the ledge and loop back around to get some space.

Yeah, when I could make it to the ledge that dropped down onto the stair case, that helped. I could gain some space, get them to be inconvenienced for a moment when they drop down, and take the time to re-ready myself by reloading, consumables, focus, clean my underwear, etc

No I mean hopping over the railing around the center platform. Much easier to get to.

Oh I understand now.

In solo it's a beat easier, as the adds are not endless, you can kill the whole wave he summons before he makes it back to the center platform, leaving him to fight you alone.

I didn't know how that worked. I thought they kept coming. A few times, I'd kill them all and get a few good hits on him, but after that, of get swarmed again.

Well then there's your problem. You're letting him get too close. I only got hit by him the first time. Then I made sure to use the LONG hallways and turn a corner before turning around to to hit him unless I knew he was very far behind him. He's a bit of a fast sprinter but a slower turner around the corners. I avoided the middle area.

Once he goes up, get in what shots you can. The real issue is the mobs and pipes. The pipes can explode which damage you.

I just ended up doing a circular pattern around the main platform. The adds get caught up in the swirl as well and he kills many of them with his swipes. Wore light armor for speed and ring of evasion. Took a lot of practice, but loved the challenge.

There's simply no way this is true. I did finally beat him eventually, but I've actually emptied my entire weapon and then started meleeing before, still waiting for him to show up.
