Another final boss fight rage thread
Spoilers so ya.

The only other fight in the game that gave me cancer was the moonlight butterfly rip off fight on the bridge. Everything else was more or less okay. I play on hard mode so I expect things to be a little difficult but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game was not balanced or looked at seriously. Some fights are extremely frustrating for single player or duo and others are okay.

Some fights require strict builds to make it bearable where as others you can use w/e you want and are comfortable with. The game borrows heavily from Dark Souls without providing us with the variation Dark Souls and exploration that it gave. Dark Souls was full of choices and items that you could get gud with and become really adept at. This game the guns all function more or less the same and you're just restricted by range and a tiny bit of recoil.

The final boss fight calls for a specific build and the worst part is that there is NO WAY you know that you have to hit a thresh hold of damage. The thresh hold itself is insanely high and you have to have at least 10 stacks usually in the shadow realm to hit that. Not to mention you can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ see anything in the shadow realm during phase 2 so knowing what ammo pick up is what is impossible. Trying to dodge attacks is impossible. Whomever thought of this fight NEEDS to get out of the video game making business.

Go watch EgoRaptor's whole video on "conveyance" and come back and tell me that this fight is "fine". Its the worst boss fight I think I have ever seen in any game. Not to mention its broken currently for 3 players and doesn't work at all.

Test yo game before releasing. Pro tips. I expect that this will be fixed but what a let down.

Game was also insanely short. :\

While solo it's the easiest fight in the game, in coop it can potentially be one of the hardest for bs reasons.

And weapons don't function the same, don't be silly.

I wasn’t as harsh but I agree.

It really isn't anywhere close to being the easiest fight in the game solo, but yeah it sure is easier solo.

Personally I just could not kill him with the coach gun (which I'd used the whole game on every single other boss), but when I switched the beam rifle, it was easy enough.

PS: The hardest fight for me was Ixillis. Again I think it probably would have been easier with another long gun.

I also used the Coach Gun for most bosses, this one included.

It really is the easiest for me, not an overstatement. It's probably the only boss I'm confident I can now solo first try. I can't seen what could go wrong except for me deliberately being spaghetti for his meatballs. He has by far the easiest add phase for solo and himself is a joke. First phase is harder imo. Of course I'm assuming one knows what has to be done.

The mistake people make is that they attempt to actually shoot Nightmare with their guns. Which is kind of a big no-no. I've observed that even when you show people the right way to do it... they will continue doing it the wrong way.

The only time one should be firing a shot at Nightmare is to recharge their mods. And it only requires one shot to recharge all your mods fully. In my opinion anyhow.

How the hell did you kill him with the Beam Rifle? I am on my first playthrough and even if I get to 15 stacks and shoot one Black Hole at him every other shot, the middle won't break and I run out of healing charges eventually.

The fastest I've completed the final boss is under 5 minutes
He's not really hard lol

Honestly, next time I join a game on the last boss I'll get 15 stacks and try just shooting it in the face with my Coach Gun, see what happens.

Spoiler alert: You will not stun him. I've done a bit of testing since people like to claim that only a single mod will work against this boss. This is false.

Mods that work to stun Nightmare on the Normal difficulty setting solo:
(Tested with 10 stacks)
Swarm
Wildfire Shot
Breath of the Desert
Explosive Shot
Hive Shot (Hive Cannon)
Spore Shot (Sporebloom)
Stormcaller
Radioactive Volley (Defiler)
Flame Thrower (Spitfire)
Skewer (Devastator)
Hot Shot (Although this might depend on what gun you're using it on)

Some were obviously better than others but they all managed to stun Nightmare under these circumstances. On certain difficulty levels or with certain cooperative partners you may have to combo some of these mods and some of these mods will probably not work under more intense settings (Higher difficulty/more cooperative partners), presumably.

Well, of course I'll use Hot Shot

And then maybe get 25 stacks (max?) and try with just the lightning rifle

The SH will do some change to this Boss.

https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/d0q1dl/remnant_community_update_soon_tm/

I doubt they can make the battle more interesting, but maybe will be less long on coop.
