Given that there's no voice chat volume slider, it's really not all that feasible to use voice chat. I don't bother with it because it's just too damn low.
It's low. I've tested this with people using in-game voice chat and third party applications for voice chat. The voice chat volume is too low to be usable for a good majority of the population. There will be some people who have exceptionally loud microphones that can somehow be heard even with this low volume, but these are the exception and not the rule (In my opinion).
I prefer voice chat and I'm glad that they attempted to add it, but I'm hoping the next patch they do something about the low volume. Preferably some kind of voice chat volume slider options on input (your microphone) voice chat volume and output (microphone of others) voice chat volume.
Yup. True.
I understand we have preferences, and that's why there should be an option to enable/disable voice and text chat. That way, we can play however we want.
Right now, if I want to mute players, I have to disable VOIP completely. But I guess there's no point talking about it because voice chat is broken. And there's no text chat to diable. xD
We need:
1. A working normal volume for voice chat and volume control input/output.
2. Text chat (enable/disable)
3. Voice chat (be able to mute/unmute players)
4. A working Session Browser, not just join in RANDOM game.
Then again, this should already be in a game like this that features online co-op. This is almost as bad as Warhammer: Chaosbane, if not equally the same.
The focus was probably on groups of players that already know each other playing with each other. In other words, groups of players using third party voice chat software to play with each other and voice chat with each other. While I agree this is not ideal, at the very least they're working on it.
Just have to be a wee bit patient is all. :Shrugs:
