I had the same issue with (not exaggerating) dozens of crashes. Invested many hours trying to solve the problem (checking steam files, trying different drivers for the hardware components, reinstalling DirectX and so on).
I'll make it short,
in my case in the end the following two steps helped:
1. I have a GTX 1080 and set the texture filtering quality for this game (in the nvidia settings) to performance.
2. In the graphical options of Remnant i limited the FPS to 60.
Since then I didn't even have a single crash with tens of hours played.
