Is this worth buying and ultimately playing?

I liked Dishonored 1 and I wanted to buy second part, but this DLC has mixed reviews and I was curious is it worth playing or can I just safely skip on it?

If you like Dishonored then you will like all of it including the dlc.

Firstly, this isn't a DLC. If you like Dishonored - like stated above - you will likely like both Dishonored 2 and DOTO. They are all very similar gameplay wise.

Dishonored 2 follows up on the first games story and the first games DLC 15 years later. DOTO follows up on Dishonored 2 and the first games DLC as well.

DOTO is probably slightly better than Dishonored 2 in story aspect. Dishonored 2 has the weakest story in my view. Although I have more appriecation for DOTO's story after reading the DOTO novel tie in. Neither come close to Dishonored 1 and it's DLCs in my view though.

Seriously, just for 2 awesome levels the Dishonored 2 is already worth it, never mind the story. The first one indeed had a better story, but the lore around it is just as good. If you liked reading all the books in the first game then you will enjoy reading them in the second game as well.

I would say the in-game lore books and notes etc are even better in Dishonored 2 onwards and the world feels much more fleshed out.

Definitely worth buying, I enjoyed it a lot. If you already played the other dishonored games, you´ll enjoy it as well since it´s a completely new story from a new perspective. If you don´t want to spend too much money on the game you should wait until it´s on Sale. But if there´s a bundle with Dishonored 2 including Dihonored DotO, I´d go for it.

I would pass on this one man, it's fun just like the other games, but the story line is totally null and void, a full on blah fest, your character kind've mindlessly goes after a single objective the "entire" game, the games super short as well.
