How is the PC port these days?
I've heard a lot of negative things about this port over the years, but I also heard a lot of the issues got fixed in updates. I never played Chrono Trigger, and I've heard that the DS version is better, but would this version be fine for a first playthrough?

The best version of Chrono Trigger is still the original SNES version. It has the best graphics + sound.

A big part of Chrono Trigger to me is it's audio design, which every single version after, from Playstation, to DS, to Steam, completely drops the ball on it. They all sound awful compared to SNES.

I think I will either wait for a sale to get it or play it the way foghazard did. Seems it still has a lot of issues.

I still think this port is decent, but it does have some issues. The best version is probably like RunningWild said is the SNES one, but good luck getting that for a decent price. Last time i checked it was up to 300 dollars or more on ebay and amazon. I even tried to recently buy a earthbound snes copy and it was about 700 dollars. Im so glad i purchased the snes mini system when it came out as it was much cheaper at that time to get it one.

Just install the Pixel Demaster mod for the steam version (it's on Nexus). It fixes any issues I saw. First playthrough of this version, I did without. Second I did with. Highly recommend. Makes it the definitive version with even a couple improvements over the SNES version.

I've played SNES at least 50 times or more. DS at least 20 times. PS1 around maybe 10. Never played mobile.
