My thoughts on a Chrono Trigger Remake...

Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time, and as a huge fan of Akira Toriyama and Dragon Ball, Chrono Trigger blew me away back in 1995. Ever since, I always wanted more Chrono Trigger content or a follow-up, only to be hugely let down and disappointed by Chrono Cross. I wanted more adventures with Crono, Marle, Lucca and the rest of the team. So, you could imagine how hype I was when I heard of Chrono Resurrection, a fan made remake that looked amazing, only to be let down again by SE shutting it down. However, I always hoped that one day, SE would revive the project, and now decades later they're finally in the talks. The question is, how are they going to bring it back? And here's where I have a problem. Some people, and I might offend some people by saying this, but I don't really care, have little imagination... so by default they're saying HD-2D. This style may be perfect for games like FF6 or Treasure of the Rudras, but not Chrono Trigger, let's be real here! Chrono Trigger deserve its own style, Akira Toriyama style needs justice, and if you have seen any of Akira Toriyama games, they look amazing cel-shaded! I agree with this guy here:

This guy knows what's up, because he said it so naturally in the best possible way that resonated with what I was thinking. So, if anyone feels the same way, I suggest a movement pushing this idea forward to Square Enix, before it's too late, so we're all on the same page!

if they do a remake of this game, all i hope is they just upgrade the grpaihcs, but keep all the gameplay elements the exact same
thats all this game needs, the gameplay is still amazing, just update the graphics to modern 3d graphics, it will be the same timeless classicical Masterpeace, that will sell and make them money forever
