Any other good post apocalyptic RPGs like Chrono Trigger or Cross?
I haven't really checked out any other RPGs like Trigger and Cross, wondering if there are more like them. One of the main reasons i like Trigger is the future post apocalyptic map.
I tried final fantasy 7 but couldn't get into it. Anyone have recommendations on similar to cross and trigger? With the same turned based combat as either trigger or cross? Kinda like crosses combat more to be honest, but liked the atmosphere and level design of trigger more.

Better to try Final Fantasy 6.

Final Fantasy 6 doesn't have similar combat to Chrono Trigger but has post apocalyptic themes.

Fallout on PC is very post-apocalyptic but an even further departure from Chrono Trigger in terms of gameplay.

Keep an eye on the Sand Land RPG coming out soon.

8-bit Adventures 2 (sort of)
Manafinder
Sea of Stars (similar combat system to CT)

maybe you could try superdimension neptune vs sega hard girls. that have both a post apocalyptic setting and time travel.

You should get a snes and secret of evermore, or use an emulator. It's squaresoft and you get to go to different times. With gameplay like secret of mana.
You might like the Metal Max series. It's a post-apocalypse, turned based RPG that's been around since the Famicom days.

Maybe Shin Megami Tensei? It's basically adult Pokemon, and some games involve a post-apocalyptic future like SMTV, which is coming soon on Steam btw:

those games does not have time travel. you could try dark chronicle(also known as dark cloud 2). that have time travel and a post apokalyptic setting.

That looks really good, is there dark cloud 1 though should i start with the first one first?
the stories in the 2 games is completely separate. you will not gain anything by playing the games in a specific order. the time travel is also not in dark cloud 1.

There is a Dark Cloud 1, but as the previous post mentioned, the stories are separate. Dark Cloud 1 imo to me is the cooler one of the 2, but that's based on personal preference (though the final boss to DC1 is so BS and I hate him lol) but both are cool and the Altamillia mechanic is one of the coolest things an RPG ever did for it's time.
